Bentsen Palm Community Park - (Between S. Bentsen Palm Road and Inspiration Road) 4 Softball Fields, Frisbee golf (5 acres), Retention Pond (2 acres), 2 Soccer Fields, Jogging Trail, Restrooms, 15 Picnic Shelters, 4 Basketball Courts, 2 Tennis Courts, Parking Lot, 2 Sand Volleyball Courts, 5 Shuffleboard Courts, 3 men and 3 women Horseshoe Fields, 2 Playgrounds, and Birdwatching Area (12 acres). To be completed in 3 phases, no later than 2007.
The city secured a $500,000 grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department in 2003 for this project; the city’s match for the grant was the land donation of more than 60 acres.
Madero Park - Jogging Trail, Restrooms, Playground, and a Parking Lot. The park is currently open to the public but requires additional lighting.
Northwest Park - (2 Mile Line & Inspiration Road) Soccer Field, 4 Picnic Shelters, Restrooms, Playground, and a Walking Trail. This future park adjacent to Fire Station #4 should begin being constructed in late 2005.
Renovations:
1. Restoration of La Lomita Chapel
2. The inclusion of basketball courts at Bannworth, Jaycee, Nell Tolle and CWV Parks
3. Improve the parking at Nelle Tolle, Ala Blanca and Birdwell Parks
