Housing Rehabilitation/Replacement Deferred Loan Program
The Housing Assistance Program consists of two types of assistance. A home evaluation is done to determine if a reconstruction or rehabilitation will be done. Homes will be ADA compliant if a homeowner requires these accommodations. Reconstruction Assistance provides a new brick veneer energy efficient home to eligible homeowners. The homeowner’s original home is demolished and a new home is reconstructed on the same property. Family size determines the size of the home, which ranges from a 2 bedroom, 1 bath to a 3 or 4 bedroom, 2 bath equipped with central air and heat. Rehabilitation Assistance provides major repairs to the existing home in dire need of assistance. The homeowner’s home is repaired to meet standard codes. Repairs consist of electrical, plumbing, roof and other areas that need to be addressed. This program provides assistance on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Basic eligibility requirements are:

- Must have clear title and must have resided in the home for a minimum of 3 years before applying for assistance
(There is a one-time fee to obtain a title search) - Taxes must be current
