Work Experience:

Prior to her position with the City of Mission, worked as an administrator for Child Nutrition Programs at Valley View, Brownsville, and La Joya school districts. She comes to the City with 14 years of experience in program management, employee relations, Human Resource compliance, policy implementation, safety regulations, training and development, risk management, purchasing, customer service, and quality assurance. As a resident and now a public servant of Mission,  is honored to be part of team that is dedicated to ensuring that the citizens of Mission continue to receive quality services as the city continues its growth and development.

Work Experience:

Mrs. Lerma has been employed with the City of Mission for the past four years and brings an extensive background in organizational and program development. Aida served as President & Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce. Her past career path of 20 years in chamber work involved being responsible for all administrative and management functions and executing the mission of the Chamber as approved by the Board of Directors. As CEO, Mrs. Lerma provided leadership, vision, guidance and strategic direction for the full range of activities of the Chamber as well as the coordination of the program of work; organizational structure and procedures; motivation of volunteers; financial planning and management; maintenance of membership; employment training and supervision of staff; interpretation of policy as well as long-range planning.

Aida currently oversees the operations of the Mission Historical Museum, Speer Memorial Library, Community Block Grant Program (Housing). In addition to serving as Deputy City Manager, she is also the Public Relations Director as well as responsible for organizing the City’s special events and Sister City Projects.
